Parque das Nações sits on Lisbon's eastern waterfront along the Tagus River, stretching from the Oceanarium in the south up toward the Vasco da Gama Bridge in the north. You're looking at about 10 to 15 minutes to Lisbon city center by car or metro, with immediate access to Oriente Station where you can catch the metro, intercity trains, and buses. The airport? Ten minutes away. And here's what really sets it apart: the entire layout is flat and walkable.

It's honestly one of the few parts of Lisbon where everyday life just feels easy. No steep hills to navigate, no labyrinth-style streets where you get lost, and no centuries-old plumbing to battle with when something goes wrong.

What It's Like to Live in Parque das Nações

This neighborhood is the complete opposite of historic Lisbon. It was developed for the 1998 World Expo, which means everything was designed with modern living in mind: wide sidewalks, open green areas, bike paths, a long waterfront promenade, and thoughtfully planned residential zones with modern elevators, good insulation, and underground parking.

The apartments here are newer, larger, better insulated, and generally more convenient than what you'll find in Lisbon's traditional housing stock. Most buildings come with modern elevators, underground parking, heating and cooling systems, contemporary layouts, and balconies — many with river views that are absolutely stunning.

For 2025 and 2026, here's what you're looking at price-wise. Keep in mind, exact ranges vary by building, age, view, and renovation level, but this gives you the general landscape: entry-level one to two bedroom apartments run about €350,000 to €500,000. Typical two to three bedroom units are in the €600,000 to €900,000 range. And if you're looking at luxury riverfront properties, you're talking €1.2 million to €3 million and up.

Within a reasonable commute you've got United Lisbon International School very close by, Redbridge School, Park International School with multiple campuses around Lisbon, St. Julian's out toward Carcavelos via highway, and Nobel Algarve Lisbon has a planned future expansion.

And because Oriente Station connects you quickly to the entire metro network, school commutes can be surprisingly efficient even if the school isn't right in the neighborhood.
